Fieldwork Journal

In my childcare volunteer work, I first felt it was tough because I couldn’t speak English well and it was hard to play with the children. However, through this experience, I learned how to talk and communicate with children, and I also practiced many easy English phrases. Speaking with the staff helped improve my listening skills too.

At the beginning, I was very nervous, but in the end I felt happy because the staff appreciated me. Sometimes it was difficult, but it was a very valuable experience.

I think volunteer work can expand our perspective and make us happy. I recommend trying many things you are interested in. It will help you in the future.

I recommend this volunteer experience because I learned a lot and understood how hard the work is. I also realized that a smile is very important because it makes people happy.
